Chair of the Panel
Kristin Hoo (University of Bristol Volunteer Chair)
Kristin Hoo is the University of Bristol Volunteer Chair, who is responsible for student volunteering experience at University. She has been involved in mentoring children from less privileged backgrounds, set on a youth panel which approved funding of up to £1,500 for community projects, planned the launch of the largest youth festival in Singapore, volunteered at the homeless shelter in Bristol, and provided legal advice on a pro-bono basis.

Tom Gegg (EU's Forest Law Enforcement, Government and Trade Action Plan)
With abilities in both the operational and technical aspects of international development, Tom Gegg focuses on supporting the governance of tropical forests by combining his experience in project coordination with a research background in natural resource management. A University of Bristol alumni, he has worked for a range of government, NGO and private sector organisations, with direct experience in nine countries. Tom has previously worked with Send A Cow and Palladium.
Ella Bowie (STAR - Student Action for Refugees)
Student Action for Refugees is a hugely popular society and charity at the University of Bristol. Well established in the community, it makes a considerable impact on the wider community, largely in the most impoverished areas in Bristol. STAR groups make a difference by educating people about refugees, meeting and welcoming refugees to their communities, and campaigning to improve the lives of refugees in the UK.
Nicholas Andreou (Balloon Ventures)
Nick is head of insight and impact for Balloon Ventures where he develops a research agenda on the basis of their activities in the developing world. Balloon Ventures supports entrepreneurs across the world to imagine, test and grow exciting businesses that create jobs and improve lives. Nick has also worked as a researcher for the WHO in Geneva and has had extensive experience with health by working as a research associate at the University of Nottingham.
Victoria Langer (Save the Children)
Victoria is Deputy Campaigns Director for Save the Children, which is the UK’s biggest children’s charity. The organisation works to provide education, healthcare and disaster relief for children and to protect their rights. She previously worked for Save the Children as their Head of Campaigns for Child Survival and has also headed up the National Union of Students as their Deputy Director for Policy.
